Car to be at auction 5/7/07
www.wwgauctions.com/houston2007.cfm

Auction description:
The example offered here has had only one owner from the day it was purchased new in St. Louis, Missouri. It is a numbers matching 1967 Jaguar XKE Series I 1/2, 4.2 liter Roadster presented in extraordinarily rare triple black livery. The 1967 E-Type represents a continuation of the 4.2 litre power plant and the fully synchronized four-speed manual transmission, providing the best result of Jaguar engineering in its time.

The two-year plus nut and bolt restoration was completed in 2006 by marque specialists in St Louis Missouri, and has been restored to JCNA award-winning specifications.

During the restoration, no expense was spared and every major component, including the motor, was rebuilt to exacting specifications.

LOT NUMBER: 58
ESTIMATE: $100,000 - $120,000
CHASSIS NO: 1E14350

R&S auction description:
1967 Jaguar XKE E-Type
VIN: 1E14350

This is a factory black on black XKE Roadster! The car has undergone a complete chassis up restoration, and all receipts for restoration come with car. This was a one family owned vehicle from new, and the car runs and drives perfect. 1967 is the most sought after year of the XKE line up. It has all the early XKE body lines with a much more reliable 4.2 motor, Synco transmission and adjustable seats.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
