A Fixed Head Coupe boasting countless upgrades, this E Type offers usable, reliable and enjoyable driving. Produced in July 1965 and finished in Dark Blue with Light Blue trim, this left hand drive car was shipped to Jaguar of Eastern Canada. It remained in Canada for almost half a century. In October 2013 it passed to the current owner who had it shipped back to the UK. Believed to have been stored for over 20 years, the E Type landed in the UK finished in Red with Cream trim, a prime candidate for restoration.
The owner undertook a full nut and bolt restoration to give a reliable, high performance driving experience. The original 4.2l engine was rebuilt by Richard Parker Race Engines to fast road specification and was fitted with Kent fast road cams, gas flowed cylinder head, race spec valves, 9.7 to 1 high compression pistons, stronger con rods and crank, steel flywheel, AP racing clutch kit, ARP big end and flywheel bolts, pro race damper, hydraulic chain tensioner, IWIS race timing chains and harmonic damper.
Guy Broad supplied a 5 speed gearbox and uprated rear axle and it was fitted with an ECU engine management system, alluminium radiator with electric fan, stainless steel header tank, sports ignition coil, high torque starter motor, oil cooling system, uprated engine frames, torsion bars, anti-roll bar and power steering. It was converted to right hand drive and finished in Opalescent Dark Blue and trimmed in Cream with LED dash and footwell lights to create a modern cabin environment.
The car was fitted with 15'' competition stainless wheels with 205 Blockley tyres and was then tuned and mapped resulting in a smooth driving example delivering 260bhp. Meticulously maintained since restoration this E Type stands out from the crowd.
