Owner: Alan Andrea

Own 1E13598 for over 40 years. Former owner of 1E33160 and 1E35468. Have owned many different sportscars. E-Types are my overall favorite. Race a Lola in SCCA nationals in the Sports 2000 class. Always looking for nice E-Types, esp FHC series 1.

Bought this car in October 2008. Almost all components, upholstery, glass, wheels, shocks, etc. appear to be original. Car has tinted glass and triplex heated rear window. I'm freshening it up mechanically and under the bonnet cosmetically; but the car is much too nice to restore. Miles show under 14,000, and could be accurate.

Now has just under 21,000 miles.

This 1966 Jaguar XKE coupe is a Series I example powered by its original, rebuilt 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a replacement 5-speed manual transmission. The car is finished in Carmen Red over a black leather interior and shows 21k miles. Equipment includes tinted glass, a Triplex heated rear window, an aftermarket radio, replacement Dayton wire wheels, a Terry’s heavy-duty front sway bar, and an aluminum radiator. Maintenance in 2018 consisted of new spark plugs, an oil and filter change, and ceramic-coating of the exhaust manifold. Purchased by the selling dealer 10 years ago, the car participated in the 2012 and 2013 runnings of the Going to the Sun Rally and is now being offered with some spares including the original gearbox, a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, a factory tool kit, literature, service records dating to the 1990s, and a clean Illinois title.

The seller reports that the car was repainted during previous ownership in its original shade of Carmen Red. Polished 15″ Dayton wire wheels were mounted in 2014 with new Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. New shocks, ball joints, and suspension bushings were installed during the seller’s ownership, along with a new Terry’s heavy-duty front sway bar. The braking system has reportedly been rebuilt, including the calipers, master cylinder, and brake booster.

The interior is trimmed in black with leather upholstery, matching door panels, replacement footwell carpets, and a replacement passenger seat panel. A Triplex heated rear window is equipped, as is tinted glass all around. An aftermarket radio is present in the console, and the seller notes a small cut in the right-side sill cover. The seat belts feature wing logo buckles.

A 3-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation including a 6k-rpm tachometer and 160-mph speedometer. The 5-digit odometer shows 21k miles, about 8k of which were added by the selling dealer.

The 4.2-liter inline-six was rebuilt in 2012 by Imports Unlimited of Highland Park, Illinois with new valves and valve guides, camshaft bearings, an exhaust manifold, lower heat shield, aluminum radiator, thermostat, and more. A 5-speed manual transmission was installed at this time in place of the factory 4-speed unit and was fitted with a new clutch and machined flywheel. Other equipment is said to include Mahle pistons, a new water pump, and a stainless steel exhaust system. Maintenance in November 2018 included new spark plugs, an oil and filter change, and ceramic-coating of the exhaust manifold. The original gearbox and radiator are included in the sale.

Engine number 7E8579-9 and matches that listed on the Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate. The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate shows the original numbers and colors as well as a production date of March 23, 1966 and US delivery. A factory tool kit, literature, and service records dating to the 1990s are included in the sale.
