    Ebay item 12/8/08
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Auction ended at $6,099 reserve not met, after 11 bids.

    Sellers description:
This car looks a lot better than these pictures look, the floors look rusty but is actually felt under carpet that someone glued on. Although the bonnet has a few hrs. cleanup it is a true series 1.5 bonnet. not 1 or 2 but 1.5 only. Bonnet chrome is also 1.5 only and it is in good shape however I used the two outer HL rings on a 68 OTS. Which could also be for sale. Package deal.? Car looks like it took it once in the ass since there is some bondo in rear up near bumper. Have enough pieces to put together a used interior. Trans, rear end, are known good, engine needs rebuild, turns over easily, 9to 1 compression, numbers match. Doors are solid windows work, good solid car to work on. Have the original 2 carb setup, also have a solex (look like weber) intake with carbs, and a SU intake with carbs for sale. Seats are not in car. They are also 68 only, recline but without head rest. Very comfy. 68 has early nice body style, but with better interior, glove box door, seats, door panels, and much better cooling. I have owned lots of Jags and these are the best year in my opinion.

I bought this car in 2009 in Oregon and had it shipped to Holland. Unfortunately during transport the hood got a little damaged.
Engine was broken (I was told) but this was NOT correct (how nice). It only had a stud of an inlet/outlet manifold in the clutch housing, making sometimes terrible noice when the back of the car was lifted. After removing it, engine was really fine.
Some mices had lived in the left sill, which they had it filled with cattle food. This cattle food made the sill moisture, therefore it had a little corrosion there (but behind the battery!). I repaired this very nice and had the hood and this left sill painted.
Sold to Italy in 2009 to Andrea Gobbi near Rimini.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
