This 1970 Jaguar XKE is a Series II coupe that has been refurbished and modified with custom lighting treatments, a deleted front bumper and badging, a repaint in Royal Blue, and the installation of chrome wire wheels, triple SU carburetors, an aluminum radiator, tubular headers, and an aftermarket exhaust system. The interior was reupholstered in black leather, and the 4.2-liter inline-six, four-speed manual gearbox, and rear differential are said to have been rebuilt. Additional work reportedly included overhauling the suspension and brakes, installing a power steering system, and replacing the clutch and flywheel. Acquired by the current owner in 2015, this E-Type is now offered on dealer consignment in Oregon with a Thor knock-off hammer and a clean Arizona title.
The body reportedly received a bare-metal respray in Royal Blue during the mid-2010s. Additional work performed at that time included deleting the front bumper, relocating the front turn signals, and installing recessed front fog lights, custom taillights, and a Series-1-style front grille bar. The rear bumper is said to have been recently re-chromed.
Chrome 15″ wire wheels feature winged knock-offs and wear 205/70 Hankook Kinergy ST tires. The car has been fitted with power steering, and the selling dealer reports that the suspension and four-wheel disc brakes were overhauled during the refurbishment.
The interior has been reupholstered and features black leather seats and door panels along with a gray cloth headliner. An aftermarket stereo has been installed and includes a Pioneer head unit and console-mounted speakers.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and gauges to monitor battery voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 40k miles, approximately 2,500 of which were added by the current owner. Total mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter inline-six is said to have been rebuilt and fitted with aftermarket camshafts. Additional equipment includes triple SU carburetors, tubular headers, an aftermarket aluminum radiator, and twin horns.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission that was reportedly rebuilt, along with the rear differential, during the refurbishment. Recent service is said to include replacing the clutch and installing an aluminum flywheel.
