Seen in internet ad, 2003. Price was $24K, sold.

Ad reads:

"Engine - very good compression, smooth, starts easily.
Transmission - very sound, shifts well. No unusual noise.
Drive train - in good condition.
Suspension - tight, good front and rear.
Tires - very good, new rears, good fronts, Michelins.
Steering - very good, tight.
Body- very good condition, straight, good fit.
Finish - very good repaint, shows some use, a couple of small un-noticeable dings.
Paint - nice red, repainted some time ago, very good job, one small paint bubble under driver side sill in front of rear wheel. Can not be seen unless under car.
Any noticeable flaws - the couple of flaws mentioned above and small repair signs on front edge of top dash padding, nothing torn or bad, just re-glued.
Rust repairs - no noticeable rust repairs, car very sound.
Weather seals - are still in good condition.
Chrome - very good.
Glass - very good condition.
Interior - driver seat, new, has a very small scrape in the surface where the top frame folds down. Passenger seat, cockpit surround and carpet - new.
Dash - dash face very nice, dash pads very good condition, gauges all working.
AM/FM stereo radio/cassette works well.
Switches - are all working, however fan, hazard lights and horn do not work. Probably fuses, flasher unit or relay need replacing.
Directional signals - working well.
Lamps - all in good working condition.
Brake system - very good brakes.
Top - new, very nice Stay-Fast top.
Driveability - this XKE drives very well, it is a get in and go car.
Impressions - this Jag has been very well maintained, it shows some very small signs of age. However, this is not a show car, if it were the cost would be in the 50 to 60 range. This is a very nice driver, well above most XKEs in use. I would not have any fear of getting in this Jag and driving thousands of miles on a trip, just as it is. A good value."

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
