Car now offered at:
barnfinds.com/bf-exclusive-1971-jaguar-e-type-parked-since-83/
Seller's description:
Barn Finds reader Jeff has decided to offer his 1971 Jaguar E-Type through us. The car is located in Lebanon, Tennessee and Jeff is asking $42,500.
What Makes It Special? This is a two owner 1971 44231 mile Series II XKE Roadster. The second owner obtained the car in 1977. The car was driven until 1983 to the current mileage. The owner chose to park the car, purchase an interior kit as well as a new top and dash pad. The dash pad was installed but the interior kit and top were left in their prospective boxes where they remain and will be provided to the next owner. The car has never suffered from an accident and suffers from little minor rust. The body gaps are factory perfect. The engine is free and turns easily. This example is a very easy car to get on its feet as a driver or a good solid candidate with high integrity for a complete restoration.
Body Condition: The body is very straight with perfect factory body panel gaps. There is very minor rust. Paint is old with the patina you would expect to find on a garage find.
Mechanical Condition: The car is numbers matching. Nothing has been done to the mechanicals since it was stored 35 years ago. Engine turns, clutch and brakes seem to work.
Asking Price: $42,500
Location: Lebanon, TN
Mileage: 44,231
Title Status: Clean
VIN: 2R14179

Seller's description:
This is a pretty straight forward listing. This Series II XKE Roadster is a two owner car. The car was put in dry storage in 1985,owner was going to replace the interior and soft top. The correct leather interior and top was ordered and never installed. The car was left to languish and was not completed or moved in order to get the car out of storage we had to uncover it from its blanket of boxes, pool cover, wall paper rolls and miscellaneous Christmas boxes. The car is a numbers matching car,we easily got it running after soaking the cylinders. The car currently is not set up to run by hitting the key and running, it needs an external fuel source. The car is "largely"a rust free car.I do not mean rust free,I mean largely rust free. There is a spot on right rear well opening, small and not a hole but rust. Most rust that appears in the pictures is surface rust. The tow truck driver took a floor jack and lifted on the drivers floor only to expose weakness in the seam of the pan. The spare wheel floor is solid as is the doors, bonnet, quarters. The car shows no evidence of an accident history. The body side moldings are tape and easily removed. The car comes with the complete new interior kit as well as new top and boot. The spare tire is the original tire from factory.Car comes with clean negotiable Tennessee title.
