Ebay item 7/16/05
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $10,100.00 (Reserve not met), 10 bids, 4 days left in auction. Buy it now price $35,000. 72K miles.

Sellers description:
I bought this vehicle in August 1987 from Schmitt Autos in St. Louis, MO. At the time it had 68,260 miles. Since then I have only put on 4,258 miles. The car has been garage kept and covered and well cared for. The car is all orginial, except for some new belts and an occasional new battery. The body, roof, interior and hub caps are all original. Given its unaltered state, there are understandably a few minor issues. The paint is still in good condition, save three tiny spots near the front right tire. The driver's seatbelt does not work, but can easily be fixed. The car runs well and has unbelievable acceleration and power. Truly a superb weekend ride!

Car returns to ebay 9/30/19

www.ebay.com/itm/1973-Jaguar-E-Type/183975788368

Current bid: $17,400 reserve not met 16 bids 6 days left in auction, seller chezronracing, 74k miles, car now said to be in Littleton, Colorado, previously Wilmington, Delaware.

Seller's description:

I have owned and loved the car for 15 years. We climbed many mountains together physically and emotionally. Rode in and on many tow trucks together. so many memories! We have peaked and its down hill from here. Personally I was more interested in the car being a fun driver that I could enjoy to the max while not being afraid of scratching a 100k restoration. That being said I focused on the drive drain. The tires are brand new. I replace/ rebuilt the brakes and lines. The shocks have been upgraded. It has an aluminum radiator with electric fans. It got a new clutch a year ago. most of the bushings have been replaced. The car is all original except for the radiator. The car runs great! it could use a minor tune on the carbs (it bogs a tiny bit at low end). The interior is rough. The body is ok. It has a dent in the front of the hood. It had a small dent in the rear quarter panel that was repaired. The front fender has a scratch/dent. the car might have a tiny bit of rust. I am in Colorado and would be happy and encourage you to come look at and drive the car.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
