Guess that's an interesting way to get all of the first year Mazda Miata colors onto a car.

Sellers description:
We are excited to offer this fully restored 1965 Jaguar XKE 4.2L OTS roadster! It began as a number's matching, 35,000 original mile example in true survivor condition. Highly decorated with "driven" and "original" class awards from car shows and concours events located throughout the Washington state area, it was a perfect candidate for a quality restoration. This now very stunning Jaguar was brilliantly repainted using the proper colors and scheme of the British Union Flag with absolutely superb results! The smooth finish and separating lines are absolutely clean and nothing short of show quality! The complimenting Red leather seat upholstery and Royal Blue stayfast canvass convertible top are all brand new! This car is now affectionately known as the "Shaguar" paying homage to the version made popular by Hollywood's "Austin Powers" trilogy starring Mike Myers in the late 1990's.

A further treat to the future owner of this car will be what lies under the front bonnet. There you will find the original 4.2L Inline 6 cylinder engine, but now with a host of modern advancements to improve drivability! This engine was professionally rebuilt with line-honed block, ported and polished racing head with oversized valves, F.A.S.T computer-aided fuel injection management system with Jenvey throttle bodies, new pistons and rings, new crankshaft and cam bearings, harmonic balancer, high-output Mallory ignition with rev limiter, high-output 125amp alternator, stainless steel exhaust headers and 2.5" exhaust, high capacity aluminum radiator with high-flow cooling fans, all new wiring, and more! A Tremec T-5 5-speed manual transmission was selected for their proven dependability, lightweight aluminum housing, and overdrive gearing. This one has a heavy-duty clutch and lightweight aluminum flywheel as well! The rear end is a perfect 3.54 ratio for excellent highway travel!

Tuning was performed at British Automotive with premier dyno testing by Dyno-Comp both located in Scottsdale, AZ. Their expertise allowed this straight 6 cylinder to produce 307hp and 346 ft lbs of torque!

The suspension and brakes were left out in the high-end build! Starting with aluminum Wilwood 4-piston brake calipers, Kevlar brake pads, and oversized ventilated rotors, this car now stops on a dime! The suspension consists of 6 Koni shock absorbers with heavy rate sway bar & high spring rate torsion bar up front, high-rate adjustable coil-overs at the rear, all polyurethane bushings, and more! On the ground are light alloy 15" D-type wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot tires!

It's hard to express the level of expertise that went into building this car. The builder's investment from start to finish is estimated at nearly $200,000! It comes with original manuals, maintenance guide, and original wiring diagram, former ownership history, manuals for new equipment, F.A.S.T. connection cable for tuning, parts and service receipts all included! This is a truly one-off custom Jaguar that is as beautiful as it is fun to drive!

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
