Seller's description :
1965 JAGUAR 4.2 LITER XKE ROADSTER
This '65 E-Type OTS #1E11111 (roadster) was sold new in June of 1965 through Peter Lindner's dealership in Germany to one WS Conti. It was one of only 67 OTS E-Types sold new in Germany in 1965.The colors on the car are now as original.
The car has the original data plate and all the numbers on the car match those on the plate.
The restoration was executed by the well-regarded Randy Aagard who has restored numerous Jaguar E types and now does only one car a year to a standard that has been recognized as superlative by the Jaguar Factory itself. Almost 3,000 hours have been spent on a comprehensive, every nut and bolt restoration. The restoration was completed in June of 2024
Below is his description of the restoration of 1E11111
“The restoration was comprehensive and we kept all possible original components- down to date codes on parts. Things like original reconditioned Cheney hose clamps (not reproductions) and pinch clamps are original. All original Jaguar bolts - that have been reconditioned, have been used throughout. I have ben restoring and servicing Jaguars since 1973, so I have a lot of original parts, some are very hard to find.
Some examples of what has been done are:
The radiator is a new heavy duty aluminum unit that looks the same as original. I have installed a modern fan, but it can be removed, and the original fan is included with the car and can be installed for show. Engine has been totally rebuilt with 20 over pistons, transmission has been gone through with new bearings and seals. It has the original 3.07 rear end that German cars came with which will make it a more capable highway driver. It has all new master and servo, brake lines and hoses and re-sleeved calipers, etc. A new clutch master and slave cylinder were installed. It has six new Girling shock absorbers, as original. A new stainless steel exhaust system. New wire wheels and Vredestein tires were installed. All parts that were cad plated originally have been replated. All new bearings, U joints and suspension bushings have been redone. Has new heater core, and the carbs were rebuilt. Internal cavities of the body and tub have been treated with rust proofing materials. New clutch and pilot bearing, with fly wheel being resurfaced. Comes with original Jaguar seat belt buckles but with new webbing. New Lucas Tribar headlights as the car would have had originally in Germany. Correct markings on license plate lights, taillights, sidelights and backup lights. All new wiring including correct battery cables. Original starter motor and alternator rebuilt. I Installed sound deadening and heat insulation. I had side window glass made with the etching as original. Windshield and headlight covers have the Triplex logo. The car has the rubber gaiter as original for 65 models. The clock was rebuilt and works.
I have taken comprehensive photos of the entire restoration process and they are included in a beautiful hard bound book documenting this entire restoration. The car will come with full tool set and jack, books. The top is authentic with the shot-filled bag, and the interior has been made in red leather, and red carpets as original
