This stunning 4.2-litre Series 1 Roadster bears testament to the E-Type variation known for its increased torque, smoother transmission and roomy cockpit. To these desirable driving qualities, this sensational Jaguar adds beautiful cosmetic condition, factory-certified authenticity and a highly awarded restoration.

According to its JDHT certificate, this car was built on June 25, 1965, and was dispatched to famed distributor Jaguar Cars of New York on July 6th. Initially acquired by an owner in Ogden, Utah, the E-Type later moved to Michigan and, in 2009, was acquired by the consignor from a New York State classic car dealership. At the time, the consignor had been in search of a solid E-Type that he could restore to its former glory and show.

A two-year restoration was begun with a careful disassembly of the car and the body was stripped to bare metal. The car was found to be a solid example and very little bodywork was required. After painstaking preparation, the body was treated to several coats of paint in the original Jaguar color of Carmen Red.

The E-Type was then sent to Coventry Classics in Orlando, Florida, a Jaguar specialty firm owned by longtime JCNA Chief Judge Tom Curren. Mr. Curren restored the mechanical aspects of the car to original factory specifications, using original or NOS parts to the greatest possible extent. Furthermore, the interior was completely refurbished with the best materials available.

Completed in early 2011, the restoration resulted in a gorgeous and highly authentic example of the classic E-Type that soon gathered numerous JCNA Champion Class awards. In May 2011, the car scored 99.96 points at the club meet in Orlando, earning it the coveted Best in Show award. Two months later, this E-Type scored 99.5 points at the JCNA Challenge Championship in Dublin, Ohio, before earning a perfect 100-point score in October at the Legends on the Green in St. Augustine, Florida, where the car also garnered Best in Show, the Jaguar Dealership Award and the People's Choice Award. In November, the car tallied another perfect score and Best in Class at the 2011 Winter Park Concours d'Elegance in Florida.

The car is accompanied by a tool kit, owner's manual, tailor-made luggage and its JDHT certificate, as well as restoration receipts. Wonderfully prepared, the E-Type remains a strong contender for shows and would be a great entry for vintage rallies such as the Copperstate 1000.

This car's Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate shows it as sold by Jaguar Cars of New York on July 6, 1965, to an owner in Ogden, Utah. After a spell in Michigan, it was sold in 2009 to a third owner, who was seeking a sound original car to restore. The owner first sent the E-Type to Harwood Enterprise in Victor, New York and then to Coventry Classics in Orlando, Florida, where longtime Jaguar Clubs of North America judge Tom Curren completed a spectacular two-year restoration costing approximately $250,000. The current owner, an avid collector who owns multiple show-winners, acquired the car in 2012.

Chassis 1E11193 has a strong competition record. It earned 99.96 points at the JCNA meet in Orlando, Florida, in May 2011, and won Best in Show. After taking 99.5 points at the JCNA Challenge Championship in Dublin, Ohio, in July 2011, it went on to earn a perfect 100 points in St. Augustine, Florida, winning Best in Show, the Jaguar Dealership and People's Choice awards. It also scored 100 points and won Best in Class in November 2011 at the Winter Park Concours d'Elegance in Florida.

When not being shown, it has been stored in a climate-controlled garage and carefully driven and maintained as needed. This is a truly stunning E-Type.
