Engine # 7E4767-9
Beautifully Restored And Highly Correct
A Matching-Numbers Engine

Complete With Books, Tools, Jack, Spare, And Grease Gun

The example on offer here is a 1965 Jaguar E-Type Roadster, chassis #1E11223, and engine #7E4767-9. It has its original engine per the included Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate. This XKE was the beneficiary of a 3-year complete nut and bolt restoration by Speedwell Engineering, LTD of Ballground, GA, and remains in outstanding and fresh condition. It was purchased from its original owner in New Jersey in September of 1980 by the late James B. McKelvey. He drove it sparingly and cared for it lovingly. Upon moving to Sykesville, MD a few years later, he kept it garaged, intending to restore it himself. Some 30 years passed with the car essentially collecting dust. In September of 2016, the car was sold to his son in law Chris Jones of Brookhaven, GA just before Mr. McKelvey passed away. To honor his late father-in-law’s original intentions to fully restore the car, he embarked on the full nut-and-bolt restoration with the renowned Robert Farris of Speedwell Engineering, LTD. Over the course of the next 3+ years, the car was stripped down to its chassis and every single part either replaced or restored to original factory specifications. The theme of this car is correctness to exact JCNA specifications. No expense was spared as the total restoration costs approached $150,000. Although it is said fairly often, this car is a shining example of “better than when it left the factory” condition.

As it sits today, this XKE needs nothing but a loving new owner who enjoys and appreciates a real and true “as delivered” example. Included in the sale are manuals, tools, jack, spare and grease gun.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
