    Ebay item 2/17/08
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-1967-Jaguar-E-Type-Roadster-Red-XK-E-58-66 ...
    Current bid $35,100 reserve not met, 13 bids, 6 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
    Original 1967 Series One E- Type Roadster removed from almost 30 years in dry storage. Records indicate the last registration in 1978 showing mileage of 58,080! This highly original Jaguar was acquired in 1971 by second owner, Mr. David Parta, (included in the records are the PA dated temporary license plate tags) who used the car sparingly before putting the car in storage.

    An incredible body with superb all around panel fit, in one of the most dynamic color combinations ever offered on an E Type. The doors close with the release of your hand and click shut with fantastically even gaps on all edges. The bonnet is just as nice with the fit surrounding the front cowl superb. The floors are totally solid and retain their original shape and interior factory protection. The rockers, wheel wells, and fender lips are all fantastic with the exception of a small sidewalk dent on the left rear, pictured. The trunk is spectacular with the original factory paint like it was new; the original spare Dunlop RS5 sport tire and wheel in place. The car retains some original paint although most of the car was repainted in its original color most likely in the 1970’s; however, the original rubber seals are still intact. It appears to never have been hit or involved in any major accidents.

    * Car # 1E 11388
    * Body # 4E 2767
    * Engine # 7E5342-9
    * Gear box # EJ 4407

    Door panels, sill covers, center console, arm rest / cubby box are all original as are the seats although hardened and cracked. All original Triplex glass is still intact as are the original Lucas sealed beam headlights. Mechanically, the original, matching number engine, has good oil pressure, carburetors have just been rebuilt and the brake and clutch pedals are good. The top is tired and torn.

    If you are looking for a totally legitimate, unmolested, low mileage E Type I urge you to see this car for yourself.

    This is the 4th E Type I have owned.
    I bought it from the US as a restoration project but sold it to Eagle (Henry Pearman) as I did not have the time to complete it....
    It is now in Henry's store waiting to be Eagle-ised for the lucky new owner - a fantastic straight and original car.

    The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

    What disease did Lucas succumb to?
