This 1966 Jaguar XKE Series I roadster was built on August 23, 1965 and refurbished in the 1990s, at which time it was repainted in British Racing Green over tan vinyl. The car is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked to a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential, and equipment includes a tan soft top, a soft top boot, enclosed headlights, 15″ wire-spoke steel wheels, power-assisted disc brakes, triple windshield wipers, an aftermarket radio with Bluetooth, and a heater. The seller purchased the car in 2023, and work has since involved replacing the soft top, various oil seals, the blower motor, alternator, steering rack boots, front brake pads, and caliper pistons. This XKE Series I roadster is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, the owner’s manual, service records, and a Kansas title in the seller’s name.
The Series I E-Types were equipped with covered headlights and taillights mounted above the chrome rear bumpers. This example came finished from the factory in Warwick Grey and was repainted in British Racing Green in the 1990s. A replacement tan soft top was installed in 2023, and the top of the hood was refinished in April 2025. Various blemishes, including bubbling on the doors and in the rockers, are shown in the gallery.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with whitewall tires measuring 205/70. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. The steering rack boots were replaced in July 2023, and work in April 2025 consisted of replacing the front brake pads and hoses along with the right side caliper pistons.
The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in tan vinyl along with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Interior appointments include black vinyl dash trim, a sliding rearview mirror, a retro-style Bluetooth radio, and a heater. The blower motor was replaced in 2023. An area of the driver’s seat has been covered with tape.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 74k miles, approximately 200 of which were added under current ownership. The speedometer was repaired in 2023 and the tachometer was repaired in 2025.
The 4.2-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque. Work in 2023 involved replacing the rear main seal, intake and exhaust manifold gaskets, oil pan gaskets, and oil filter adapter seals. The alternator was replaced in 2025.
Engine block stamping 7E5380-9 corresponds to the number listed on the chassis plate as well as the Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a full-synchromesh four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. An undated invoice in the gallery indicates that the clutch was replaced and the gearbox resealed.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate shows the original colors and drivetrain numbers as well as the build and dispatch dates.
The Kansas title carries an “Antique” brand.
