    Ebay item 5/18/14
    www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-2-Door-1966-Jaguar-E-type-OTS-/301186654014
Car has a buy it now price of $79,900 for 6 days.

    Sellers description:
    1966 Jaguar E-type 4.2 liter OTS:

A restoration was started in 1976 but stopped due to lack of interest by 2nd owner. It was then sold to the current owner in 2009-2010, still sitting now. As a result, the rebuilt engine has seized due to neglect, and some rusting has occurred on the undercarriage. The body work was filled with lead (no bondo), and painted with 14 coats of lacquer paint ('76). Back to the engine; it had been running, and the car was driven a short distance. There is about 2-3 hours on the engine, and the re-built differential ('76). The mileage on the odometer reads 27,568 which is believed to be correct. All chrome was re-done at that time in '76 and all parts plus extras are believed to be with the car (panels, tool kit, jack, etc.). The top frame is in good condition. This is a straight lined car with all doors, bonnet, and lid fitting well. It is believed to have always been stored inside.

As mentioned earlier, the head is not the original. However, with minimal effort this could be a nice driving car, as is.

The bidding on ebay stopped at $32,700 on June 23, 2014. After viewing the car I believe it to be worth $30,000 at best. The car is apart and the engine head does not match. Buyer beware the gentleman representing this car is not the owner.

I represent the owner and the cars original restoration attempt was performed by me before sold to owner now
The owner does not use the internet
I asked for an independent ,outside appraisal before the 6/18/14 auction, carefully researched sites such as hagerty, the fuelist, hemmings, nada, Edmund, autotrader, among others. I also talked with a restorationist in MI & CA and their thoughts on the car.
The value is determined to be in the range of 60-70K as is.
I understand everyone has an opinion.
Also, differing levels of skill, etc. I got a lot of e-mails wanting a buy it now price. if you read this and give the a decent offer I will take it to the owner.
BTY, my fee for the listing is at my expense and getting a qualified buyer is at the owners discretion meaning he will not sell to individuals who are unscrupoulus and rude. Also, being a certified auto body painter and mechanic, the owner is in no rush to sell, he just not have time.
During my research it appears the values of 1966 E-types are rising in value month over month, year over year since 2009 and the 3.8's I believe are in the "pool" as I call it for the entire British upward values
In other words the "valuable" British cars are steadily rising, such as the '66 E-type
