Ebay item 6/24/19

www.ebay.com/itm/1965-Jaguar-E-Type/183858692131

Opening bid US $40,000 reserve not met 0 bids, 6 days left in auction, seller wavyracer, 38k miles. Car now said to be in Clearwater, Florida formerly in Buffalo Grove, Illinois.

Seller's description:

This E Type was built in 1965 and has been off the road since 1980. Paint color is Primrose yellow and the interior is black.  The car does have some rust holes in the drop pans in the front floors and surface rust on the floors under the carpets probably from top being down and carpet getting wet. The trunk floor is free from rust. There is some rust bubbles showing through on rear wheel arch's. Doors and boot lid are in excellent condition. The bonnet looks like it has had some damage to the right side behind the front wheel. The frame rail on the right side also has had a repair on it. Door and other gaps are all good.

The interior is complete and seems to be original, convertible top looks to have been replaced.

Engine does turn over with a wrench, some parts are removed from Carbs and are placed in the trunk in a cardboard box. This is probably why the car was taken off the road in 1980. Air Cleaner and plenum are with the car also.  Speedometer reads 38800.

This car is a great restoration project for somebody looking for the most desirable of all the E Type models.  Clear Florida title.

wow. I was scouring my local Copart listings and saw this, I love Jags and seeing a Type 1, 4.2 Manual in such a state, I had to look up the vin, thank god for this website I guess. Backup for sale as of 25/06/2024. Not sure what's worse, the damage or ending up in Skelmersdale...

It is pretty ugly alright, especially seeing looking very well in 2019. Interesting they describe it as minimal damage with a value of GBP 130k. I don't think so.

Reports showing a yellow E-type was stolen in the North Yorkshire area in November 2023. The person who posted it has deleted all photos and posts. Can't tell if it were this one but it's likely.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
