We are very pleased to offer this 1967 Jaguar XKE OTS Roadster finished in Carmen Red over Black Leather seats accented by red piping, with matching Black convertible top and boot cover. Lot #187236
This 1967 Jaguar XKE Series I roadster was refurbished in 2008, and it is powered by a replacement 4.2-liter inline-six linked to a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Finished in Carmen Red over black leather, the car is equipped with a black soft top, a soft top boot, 15″ wire-spoke steel wheels, power-assisted disc brakes, a stainless-steel exhaust system, PerTronix electronic ignition, and a cassette radio. This XKE Series I roadster was acquired by the current owner in 2017 and is now offered in Georgetown, Texas on dealer consignment with a car cover and a clean Missouri title.
The Series I E-Types were equipped with covered headlights and taillights mounted above the chrome rear bumpers. This example is finished in Carmen Red and was repainted during the aforementioned refurbishment. Additional equipment includes a black soft top, a soft top boot, a louvered clamshell hood, wraparound chrome bumpers, bright trim, a driver-side mirror, triple windshield wipers, and dual exhaust outlets.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with Michelin X tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors, stainless-steel calipers, and stainless-steel braided lines. GAZ adjustable shocks are fitted out back.
The cabin features bucket seats that have been reupholstered in black leather with red piping, and matching upholstery extends to the center console. Interior appointments include black vinyl dash trim, a sliding rearview mirror, a cassette radio, and a heater.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 59k miles, approximately 50 of which were added under current ownership.
The replacement 4.2-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque. The engine was reportedly rebuilt in 2008 and has been fitted with stainless-steel headers, a stainless steel exhaust system, PerTronix electronic ignition, and electric cooling fans. Work under current ownership is said to have involved replacing the carburetor diaphragms along with the fuel line, battery, fan motor, and coolant overflow tank.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a full-synchromesh four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
