Ebay item 2/2/12
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1966-XKE-Roadster-Only-60-970-Miles-Since-New-California ...
Current bid $20,100 reserve not met, 19 bids 6 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
California blue-plate 1966 Jaguar XKE Roadster. Signal Red on Black leather interior. If you are looking for a good driver, this is a great car! This car has benefitted from a complete engine and transmission rebuild within the last ~350 miles. Additionally, my mechanic believes that this car has the preferable slightly taller rear end gear ratio option, which makes for a much more pleasant freeway driving experience. The odometer currently reads 60,970 miles. Cosmetically, the car is consistent with that of a driver, with a few imperfections in the paint and the expected minor rust. The original covering is still present on the seat backs, and it's the earlier, more attractive, moquette material. At some point, the seat bottoms were reupholstered in original-style leather. The original dash is still in nice, very useable, condition. The windshield is original to the car, with the original Triplex marking on the top center. Additionally, the glass headlight covers have the original Triplex stamping on the glass. The convertible top is present, but could benefit from adjustment or replacement, as it is currently too tight to latch. The original convertible top tonneau cover is still with the car. The car is incredibly straight and retains its original structural "picture frame." I, along with my mechanic, can find no accident damage. The original body seams, such as under the rear boot and around the license plate area are all still present and intact (see photos). All body panels, including floors and sills look to be original. Fortunately, no original panels were ever cut out and replaced with reproductions or poor craftsmanship. The underside of the rear boot floor, or spare tire well area, has no bubbling and appears very solid (see photos). Mechanical work done within the last 500 miles includes: complete engine and transmission rebuild, new water pump and carburetor rebuild at 60,611 miles, and clutch slave cylinder rebuild along with changing of brake and clutch hydraulic fluids. The engine block is original to the car, with the serial number matching the data plate. At some point in the car's life, the cylinder head was replaced with one of the same vintage.
