Equipped with the highly desirable, larger displacement 4.2L engine, this E-Type’s powertrain also boasts triple SU carburetors and a 4-speed manual gearbox feeding the engine’s 265 HP to the ground via its chromed knock-off wire wheels. This Black over Tan roadster features the low production number of 11 in the 1967 production run and has undergone a comprehensive rotisserie restoration to a fantastic show level. The XKE was finished in a captivating and popular Black and Tan color combo, commanding attention wherever it travels! Professionally restored by Jaguar experts, this Series 1 4.2 liter E-Type has been driven a mere (3) miles since its completion, and is ready to grace the show circuit or simply be kept as a Blue-Chip investment.
The Roadster’s restoration was documented with an extensive batch of detailed, well-composed, and comprehensive photographs that capture important highlights of the work performed. Included in the restoration process: the XKE was stripped to bare metal, placed on a rotisserie, metal finished, leaded, and all body parts were fitted to the car and chrome, prepared for primer, sealer, paint, base, clear, color sanded and buffed to a sleek Black finish. All systems were gone through and were replaced or rebuilt where necessary. The E-Type’s engine was rebuilt back to factory specifications, along with the fuel, electrical, cooling, and hydraulic systems being restored as well. All of the Jaguar’s chrome was re-plated where needed, and it also received a new interior in the correct materials. Elsewhere, the Roadster’s instruments were painstakingly restored, and the detailed engine compartment showcases exquisite brite work. The E-Type features a number of other items, including factory-installed seat belts, factory radio blanking plate, and a matching set of (5) chrome wire wheels. The fully rebuilt 4.2 liter engine is equipped with (3) SU Carburetors, and is complemented by a fully synchronized transmission, ensuring a driving experience that is both user-friendly and exhilarating.
