This absolutely gorgeous E-Type is a 4.2 series I Roadster from 1966 and was originally finished in Gloss Black with red leather - a very rare original colour combination. Truly stunning!

It was supplied new to Jaguar Cars of New York where it was to remain until imported last year to the UK by our valued regular client vendor who is an expert and professional Jaguar restorer. The car is totally matching numbers (chassis, engine, gearbox and body number) as confirmed by the accompanying Jaguar Heritage Certificate in the car's history file.

During the last 12 months, the car has had a total nut and bolt professional restoration with no expense spared. The body has been taken back to bare metal and professionally resprayed to a very high standard with all panel gaps neat and level. A new factory soft top has also been fitted. The engine has been stripped, checked, parts replaced where necessary, and re-assembled as have both the gearbox and rear differential. New brakes (callipers and discs) have been fitted, the suspension has been stripped and rebuilt and new shock absorbers, a new stainless exhaust, and new wire wheels with new correct tyres have all been fitted.

Whilst restoring the car to the amazing standard that you see today, it was swopped from left to right-hand drive, a process that is considerably easier when all the trim and dashboard are out of the car pending its respray. Showing 40,000 miles on the clock this is a very special E-Type offered at an absolute fraction of what it would cost you to buy and restore to this standard today.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
