In May '06 SCM. Seen @ Gooding & Co. Auction, Palm Beach FL 1/22/06.
"#11 - 1967 Jaguar XKE S1. Opalescent Silver Blue/blue/blue leather. Odo: 52,934 miles.
A high-level restoration on what was an outstanding original car. The trunk lid fit is off slightly. Excellent paint and chrome. Some seat stitching is exposed rather than tight, and there was no radio block-out plate. The engine compartment is a little TOO shiny, though it looks very good. Terrific undercarriage. Very nice car in attractive colors. Cond: 1-. SOLD @ $110,000."
"I had to go back to January 2003 in my SCM Gold database to find a Series 1 4.2 roadster that had brought over $100k at auction (#30134). This was big money indeed but the level of detail throughout put this one over the top. A not unreasonable proposition." -- Dave Olimpi.

1967 Jaguar E-Type Series I 4.2-Litre Roadster
Chassis: 1E13338
Engine: 7E9818-9
SOLD $242,000
High-Quality Restoration of a Low-Mileage, Black-Plate California Car
Retains Matching-Numbers Engine and Presented in Original Opalescent Silver Blue
Displayed at the Concours on the Avenue in Carmel in August 2012
Comprehensive Service Performed in Spring 2020 by JML Restorations of Santa Barbara
Offered with JDHT Certificate, Books, Tools, Restoration Photos, and Unrestored Hardtop
This stunning 4.2-Litre Roadster was built in August 1966 and originally sold to Motor Power Products of San Francisco, California. A Bay Area car from new, its second owner was noted Jaguar collector Mark Miller, who retained the very original E-Type in his personal collection for nearly 20 years. The third owner, Hector Castro of HRC Jaguars in North Carolina, acquired the Roadster from Mr. Miller and embarked on a photo-documented, concours-quality restoration of the 53,000-mile survivor, refinishing the car in its beautiful original Opalescent Silver Blue color.
Since this work was completed in spring 2020, the Jaguar has been fastidiously maintained and still presents beautifully in all respects, a credit to the quality of the restoration and the care it has continued to receive. The current owner, a discerning Southern California collector, has driven the E-Type sparingly, exhibited it at the 2012 Concours on the Avenue in Carmel, and recently commissioned Martin Loge’s JML Restorations to perform a comprehensive service at a cost of over $14,000.
Consistent with its outstanding presentation, this Jaguar is offered with important accessories – books, tools, workshop manual, and an original sales brochure – as well as an album of restoration photos, an unrestored hardtop, and JDHT Certificate confirming its original build details and component numbers. For the collector looking for a truly outstanding Series I E-Type Roadster, the search ends here.
