Opening bid $65,000 reserve not met, no bids yet, 6 days left in auction. Buy it now price $79,999.

Sellers description:
This XKE has always been in Atlanta, one of the best climates for a collector car. It has always been an “extra” car, kept in a garage and used for fun rather than transportation. It has never been run down and has been extensively refurbished and detailed to concours standards. Most of its components are original to the car and everything has been refurbished and detailed. It is not a modern compilation of reproduction parts of questionable origin. It is truly a special car.

Features:
* Same owner last 38 years.
* 75,150 original miles, (it was purchased with just 13,000 miles on it).
* The car was originally red and was recently completely disassembled, stripped to bare metal and painted silver to concours standards. The work was performed by an Atlanta area British car specialist. There’s been an exceptional attention to underbody detail with all new rubber and chrome platting as necessary. There was no rust (other than minor surface rust) and the only body repair was for a dent under the trunk area.
* The interior was refurbished when the car was painted and includes new leather, new carpet, new trunk carpet, and new interior trim material.
* The top was replaces with a new cloth top and with new cloth boot.
* When the car was painted all of the major mechanical components were removed and rebuilt or replaced as necessary. The components were detailed to concours standards before reassembly.
* The original matching number engine is fitted to the car. It was completely rebuilt using modern parts for the acceptance of non-leaded fuel and improved reliability.
* The original transmission was rebuilt and refitted to the car.
* The complete suspension was disassembled rebuilt, detailed, and reassembled.
* The brake system was rebuilt as necessary and detailed.
* A complete new wiring harness was installed for future reliability.
* The exhaust from the manifold back was replaced with a new stainless steel system. The header got a new porcelain coating however as normal for an XKE it has started to chip again.
* New P 4000 Pirelli 205/70 R15 tires were mounted on the excellent condition original chrome wire wheels.
* Since this is a two owner car, all of the accessories that are usually lost are still with the car.
* Optional hard top, factory issued, freshly painted with new rubber seals
* Rare original AM/FM/SW radio (still works great)
* Rare original seat belts
* Complete with full tool kit, jack kit, passenger’s foot board and owner’s books.

This is a beautiful example of one of the most admired cars ever built. This is a car you’ll always take pride in showing off and always enjoy driving.

1967 Jaguar XKE Series 1 Roadster
Chassis no. 1E13639
Engine no. 7E10505-9
Body no. 4E5332
Described by the vendor as being a dual-purpose show/driver example of Jaguar's legendary XKE, the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate on file confirms 1E13639 was completed on October 11, 1966 and dispatched to Jaguar Cars of New York on October 21 for delivery to the first owner, Mr. John P. Arend from St. Petersburg, Florida. Originally finished in red with black upholstery and hood, the Jaguar is now presented in the stylish combination of silver and black. A limited ownership car that spent 38 years with one long-term guardian, the Jaguar underwent a bare metal restoration by marque specialists. After the body was color sanded and buffed to a beautiful finish, the underbody was detailed. All new rubber was fitted and chrome plating was finished as required.

The interior was refurbished at the same time, with new leather upholstery, new carpet, new trunk mat and new trim material installed, as well as a new top and cloth boot. A rare period AM/FW/SW radio, still in working order, and original seat belts are a nice touch to the cockpit.

Mechanically, all major components were removed and either rebuilt or replaced as necessary. The original matching-numbers engine was upgraded with hardened valve seats to accept unleaded fuel. The original transmission was rebuilt and all suspension components refurbished and re-assembled. A complete new wiring harness was installed for reliability. The exhaust manifolds were replaced with new porcelain, and a new stainless steel exhaust system was installed. The hydraulic systems were rebuilt as needed and was detailed.

Showing 81,323 miles at the time of cataloging, the XKE comes with a full tool kit, jack and owner's books. A set of new Dunlop tires in the correct size were fitted to chrome wire wheels in excellent condition. The Jaguar was recently serviced and detailed and represents an exceptional example of a very desirable model. It exhibits an integrity only found with carefully maintained, cherished cars.
