Ebay item 10/31/11
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/330632780928
Current bid $18,600, no reserve, 27 bids 6 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
This car is from the estate of a good friend. He died last December and left the car as you see it in the pictures. He bought it in 1969 and decided some 30 plus years ago that he wanted a body off new paint job. For whatever reasons, it was never completed. It has been stored and moved several times over this period. Storage may not have always been in the best of buildings. This is unfortunate in a lot of ways. You can see by the spare tire the condition things used to be in. But, it is what it is. The only real rust I can find isjust under the doors on both sides. Even this is solid. No holes or horrible cancer as seen on so many of these cars. I've take a zillion pictures but can't show them all here. It seems like all of the major parts and pieces are here. But, there is no way I can guarantee every needed piece or component is present. The engine and transmission have always been stored inside but in an unheated garage. They look great on the outside. The valve covers were recently removed and everything in there is shiney and looks like it should function. That said, I've no way of trying to get the engine turned over. The seats are shot from exposure as is the covertable top. The interior will need to be completely redone. The odometer shows just over 23,000 miles and I believe that to be accurate. But, no way to guarantee it.
Numbers on the engine and transmission match the ones on the aluminum plate under the hood. You can view the car in Terre Haute, IN The title is still in my deceased friend's name but has with it the legal document giving his brother power of attorney to dispose of the estate. I have this document in my possession along with the title which he has signed.
