This 1967 Jaguar XKE is a Series I roadster that was refurbished in 2002 and acquired by the late husband of its current owner in 2012. Refinished in blue over black leather, the car is powered by a replacement 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Other features include a black soft top, a black boot cover, 15″ wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, triple SU carburetors, dual electric fans, and an AM/FM radio. This XKE is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a JDHT certificate and a clean Texas title.
The car was delivered new in Cream, and the seller states that the color was changed to Opalescent Silver Blue in 2002. Features include a black convertible top, a matching boot cover, and chrome-finished trim.
Replacement 15″ wire wheels were purchased in 2012 and are mounted with two-ear knock-off hubs. They wear Vredestein Sprint Classic tires that were installed at the same time. The car is equipped with a four-wheel disc braking system, which are inboard at the rear.
The interior features bucket seats with black leather upholstery, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio is mounted in the factory location. The seats show wear, and the analog clock is inoperable.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel with the Jaguar crest sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 64k miles, approximately 10k of which have been added under current ownership; true mileage is unknown.
The replacement 4.2-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors as well as a radiator from a later model. Two electric fans utilize an adjustable controller, and the oil was changed most recently in late 2020. The engine stamping is 7E51904-9 on the engine block and the cylinder head. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate indicates a build date of March 7, 1967. The car was distributed to an owner in Missouri via New York. The original color scheme and serial numbers are also listed.
