This is one of the last of the Series One production models to roll off of the assembly line, and as such sports the open headlamps on the bonnet. This is the only factory change from the pure series one. Some of the features of the car include the triple SU carburetors with the original brass inspection tags, curly-hub wire wheels with eared knockoffs and Connelly leather interior. The car is complete and straight. All numbers and colors are correct and match the Jaguar Heritage Trust production record trace certificate.

Odometer rebuilt
The car has been owned by the same couple for nine years. It was restored as a driver, not to Concours standards. However, it has competed very well in local shows. Complete records and photographs of the restoration have been kept and will be available to the successful bidder. New spare parts and extras include an SU fuel pump, clutch master cylinder, knock-off removal tool, the owner’s handbook and Bentley shop manual. The car starts and runs great. The chrome is in original fair condition with some scratches and pitting. The paint was show quality when completed in September, 1995, but has developed a few flaws such as some small bubbling on the bonnet (not rust) and a ½” crack next to the left headlamp assembly. This car has only been driven a couple of times over the last three years. The front brakes have become soft and may require a master cylinder rebuild to be a perfect driver. The cooling fan and motor have been upgraded to aid in the cooling requirements for high-altitude performance. However, the original shroud, motor and blade are available upon request, and can be easily re-installed. Virtually every major mechanical and body component was restored as needed to original in 1995."

Car was put back on the road in August 2004 after more than a year of restoration. Complete strip down and rebuild of everyting forward of the windshield including new frame rails (originals rusted out and cracked) complete engine rebuild, all new plating, paint, etc. Also new 6" Daytons with 205x15 Pirelli P4000s. Also replaced most of the interior (PO had redone seats). All interior fittments from Bas Limited.
Car is now a joy to own and drive. Has been completely reliable through 5000 of recent excursions.

I recently purchased the car from Dennis in late 2016. I have repatriated it back to England.
The car is a credit to Dennis: the way it had been maintained, driving absolutely faultless.
However, I have decided to restore the car back to its former glory, which includes engine out, gapped and profiled full bare metal respray , re-chroming, and all the mechanicals being gone through, so I will have the perfect full matching number car for the summer restored totally back to stock.
The work is currently being undertaken by world renowned, Stallion Auto Body Specialists, who have been restoring Ferrari and Lamborghini for the last 30 years. It is great to see my E type parked next to multi million pound Ferrari's in the workshop. Graham and Jason at Stallion are true craftsmen, which is becoming increasingly hard to find.

According to its accompanying Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace Certificate, this particular example - chassis 1E15138 - was completed on 17th March 1967. Originally finished in Pale Primrose Yellow with Black upholstery and a Black hood - the same livery it pleasingly sports today - the two-seater was supplied new via the Coventry manufacturer's New York distribution hub to Albert P Lareau. Belonging to Larry Story of Casper, Wyoming three decades later, the E-Type benefited from a thorough front suspension overhaul and interior re-trim before being acquired by Dennis Eklof of Arlington, Massachusetts in June 2003. Picking up where his predecessor had left off, Mr Eklof had attention paid to the Jaguar's factory-fitted 'matching numbers' engine (reground crankshaft, new crankshaft damper / timing chains / pistons / bearings / valve springs / core plugs etc), rear sub-frame / suspension, wiring, chromework, steering column, uprated radiator, propshaft, brake servo / master cylinder / front discs, clutch, manual gearbox, steering column and exhaust (replaced with a stainless steel assembly). Believed to have covered a comparatively modest mileage since these mechanical works were completed, chassis 1E15138 is said to be 'on the button' and to 'drive extremely well'. Reportedly a former concours award winner, the E-Type has recently been treated to an extensive cosmetic refresh including a full professional 'bare metal' respray by Stallion Motors of Beeston (who have painted many of Frank Sytner's cars), re-gapped panels, assorted re-chroming, five new correct-type Dunlop tyres and a new mohair hood. Worthy of close inspection and currently undergoing UK road registration, this decidedly smart 'matching numbers' Series I Roadster is offered for sale with the aforementioned Heritage Certificate, 'no advisories' MOT certificate valid until March 2018 and a wealth of invoices / receipts (dating from Mr Story and Mr Eklof's custodianship).

A very handsome example of what is arguably the most quintessential sports car of all time, the Series 1 Jaguar E-Type Roadster.
Sold new via Jaguar Cars of New York this ‘matching numbers’ example spent most of its life in the USA until it was first registered in the UK in 2017.
Between 2003 and when this E-type landed in the UK it benefited from an extensive mechanical rebuild including a full engine rebuild with nearly all new internals, all suspension renewed, rear subframe, wiring loom, brakes etc.
Once landed in the UK it was treated to a full bare metal respray to concourse standard in its original colour of Primrose yellow.
Accompanying the car is a Jaguar certificate of authenticity.
