Ebay item 6/29/08
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-1967-JAGUAR-XKE-SERIES-1-1-2-4-2-LITRE ...
Current bid $19,100, 12 bids, 2 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
CAR HAS BEEN IN STORAGE FOR 8 YEARS. UNFORTUNATELY, THE DRIVER SIDE WAS SUBJECTED TO THE WEATHER FOR SOME TIME BEFORE I DISCOVERED THE RUST THAT WAS EATING UP THE ROCKER PANEL (SILL IN JAGUAR TALK) AND THE DRIVER FLOOR AND THEY BOTH MUST BE TOTALY REPLACED. THIS WAS A NICE DRIVER WHEN PARKED. THE CLEARCOAT IS NOW PEELING IN SEVERAL PLACES. THE INTERIOR IS NICE AND WAS REPLACED PRIOR TO MY OWNERSHIP. THE PASSENGER FLOOR SEEMS TO STILL BE OK AND THE SILL IS OK. THE TOP IS USABLE AND THERE IS A TONNEAU COVER. I WILL ALSO INCLUDE A SHOP MANUAL. THE CAR NEEDS THE RUST AREAS REPAIRED, COMPLETE PAINT JOB, AND A NEW TOP TO MAKE A NICE DRIVER. I HAVE STARTED THE CAR AND RUN IT A NUMBER OF TIMES OVER THE YEARS BUT AFTER I DISCOVERED THE RUST, I LOST INTEREST. I WILL TRY TO FIND TIME TO GET THE ENGINE RUNNING BUT I WON'T PROMISE. THE ENGINE, TRANSMISSION ETC.,ALL WORKED FINE. THE REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE READILY AVAILABLE. THE BOTTOM OF THE DOORS SHOW NO SIGNS OF RUST. THE TRUNK AREA IS NICE AND THERE IS I NICE CHROME WIRE SPARE. THE ENDS OF THE FRONT AND REAR BUMPERS ON THE DRIVER SIDE HAVE ALSO BEGUN TO RUST BUT ARE REPLATABLE. THE REST OF THE CAR METAL LOOKS GREAT. THE CAR NOW STARTS, IDLES AND RUNS QUITE WELL. IT SHOULD LOAD OK.

My car is 5 numbers before this car and it is does not have covered head lights...I've owned mine since 1978. So maybe his bonnet was replaced or mine was replaced with a 1.5 bonnet before I bought the car in 1978.

The original matching-numbers engine was completely rebuilt, balanced and blueprinted. New high-performance camshafts, enlarged stainless steel valves, Forged pistons, lightweight flywheel, K&N filters and an aluminum radiator were fitted for improved performance. For better road holding and drivability, Classic Jaguar added a five-speed transmission, Wilwood brakes, Koni shocks, upgraded torsion bars and wider, polished Dayton wire wheels mounted with Dunlop performance tires. Cosmetically the choice was made to retrofit a Series 1 bonnet with covered headlamps. Although not significantly altered from its original configuration, this E-type boasts approximately 300 horsepower in its current form. A complete list of upgrades can be seen within the photos.
