This 1967 Jaguar XKE Roadster is a Series I example that was acquired in 2020 by a Jaguar collector and concours judge as a running and driving project, and it is now being sold for his estate. This car is finished in silver over black leather and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes triple SU carburetors, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, quad exhaust outlets, an aluminum radiator, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. This XKE Series I 4.2 is now offered on dealer consignment on behalf of the estate in Oregon at no reserve with spare parts, a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, and a clean Pennsylvania title.
Originally finished in Cream, the body was repainted in silver and shows several spots of grey primer on various panels. The soft top fabric has been removed and a new top frame has been added, and equipment includes a vented hood, split chrome bumpers with overriders, and dual exhaust exits.
Chrome 15” wire wheels are secured with two-eared knockoffs and mounted with older Universal Sport tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rears. A full-size spare is found in the trunk.
The cabin is upholstered in black and features leather-trimmed bucket seats. The carpets have been removed, and wear is noted center console and A-pillar trim.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock. Gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are mounted in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 74k miles, though total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 4.2-liter inline-six features dual overhead cams as well as triple SU carburetors with polished bells. The engine produced 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque when new, and a replacement aluminum radiator has been added. The underside of the hood is painted in the factory Cream color.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Additional photos of the underside are provided in the image gallery.
A selection of spares parts is included in the sale.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate shows the original colors as well as the build and dispatch dates.
The VIN on the Pennsylvania Special Plate matches the chassis number listed on the JHT certificate.
