This car should not be classified as a Series 1, but as Series 1.5 per the JCNA '68 Judges' Guide, page 2, based on the OTS, LHD Build records. The Series 1 ended at 1E15888. Your xkedata.com website has also confirmed the same information in the "About the XKE" section under "Models", showing the differences between the 4.2 Series 1 and the Series 1/2. This car is a Series 1 1/2.

Well it only took 15 years to see that comment!!! I was going by the Heritage Trust Make and model discription... "Jaguar E-type Series 1 4.2 litre"

Peter, we usually ignore anonymous comments. If they cannot leave their name the comment is usually unworthy. Hope to see more photos of your cars. If you were at the Victoria Jag shows years ago I might have seen you.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
