This 1968 Jaguar XKE is a Series 1.5 Roadster that was completed on November 21, 1967 and is said to have remained with its previous owner for approximately 40 years. The car underwent a refurbishment between 2002-2003 by XKs Unlimited of San Luis Obispo, California and was acquired by the seller after being featured on BaT in June 2016. The exterior is finished in white with a tan soft top over matching leather upholstery, and power is supplied by a numbers-matching 4.2-liter inline-six fitted with three SU carburetors and paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Work during current ownership has included installing the carburetors along with porcelain-coated intake and exhaust manifolds, as well as a spin-on oil filter adapter and a replacement thermostat, fuel filter and lines, and engine mounts. This XKE is being offered in Aiken, South Carolina with service history since 1976, spare parts, a driver’s handbook, a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, and a clean Oregon title in the seller’s name.

This example was factory-finished in Willow Green and was repainted in its current shade of white during the early 2000s. Exterior features include a tan soft top, a chrome rear luggage rack, and dual exhaust outlets. Bodywork performed during current ownership has reportedly consisted of removing previously-applied body filler and welding in replacement metal on the nose as well as repairing a dent on the hood.

Polished 15” wire wheels are secured with two-eared knock-off spinners and mounted with Nexen tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rears. A full-size spare is found in the trunk.

The cabin was trimmed in Suede Green from the factory and has since been reupholstered in tan leather with matching carpets, door panels, and a black dashboard. Amenities include a Pioneer CD stereo along with a locking glovebox and rocker switches for vehicle functions. The seller reports that the analog clock is inoperable. The five-digit odometer shows just under 94k miles, around 3k of which have been added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.

The 4.2-liter inline-six has been fitted with triple SU carburetors, a spin-on oil filter adapter, and porcelain-coated exhaust manifolds following the seller’s acquisition. Additional work has reportedly included replacement of the thermostat, choke cable, fuel filter, fuel lines, engine mounts, coolant hoses, radiator fans, and polished aluminum valve covers. The removed dual Zenith Stromberg carburetors and other removed parts are included in the sale, along with an ITG air filter assembly and Mangoletsi throttle pedal and twin cable linkage. Engine block stamping number 7E15033-9 matches the number stamped on the chassis plate and listed on the Heritage Trust certificate.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The exhaust pipes were recently replaced. The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists a build date of November 21, 1967 along with factory colors and ID numbers. Service records, a driver’s handbook, and spare parts are included in the sale.
