    Hi all XKE lovers!
I'm the new owner of this car and I'm just starting a full restoration.
My jag is a 1968 OTS 1.5 series.

The jaguar certificate says it was sold in new york painted SABLE with beige interiors.

This site (and all other cke sites) report clearly that sable was available only from 1969. There's no doubt that the car was originaly sable because the color is visible in the trunk.

What is your opinion? Was my car a special order? The color list on this site may have some mistakes?

I think the jaguar was sold in autumn (I have to check).. maybe the sable color was introduced a little before the end of the year (and of the 1.5 series?)

I think the question is quite important because all other sable cars I've ever seen are Series2 xke.

Finally what docyou think about the color? I'm not sure that I like it..

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
