    Car offered at:
    www.kentcarcollection.com/
Note; sellers description lists the VIN as 81E17044PG, 1E17044 is assumed as there was no 8 prefix or PG suffix, corrections welcomed.

    Sellers description:
1968 Jaguar E-Type Roadster 4.2 liter. With just 24,650 miles, this car is fully documented from day one.

This is the highly desirable "transition" Series 1.5 E-Type - retaining the Series 1 bodywork but incorporating improvements of the Series 2, such as improved engine cooling.

This particular Jaguar was originally in the owner's private collection, and it has recently been completely resprayed in original Jaguar Red, and detailed to show beautifully. The black leather interior and convertible top are in excellent condition.

The 4.2 liter engine has been recently serviced and tuned, and it runs exceptionally strong and smooth. The car runs, shifts, brakes, and drives like a dream - and it's among the most comfortable examples for both driver and passenger that we've encountered.

At a recent Concourse d'elegance, the car was shown for display, and the chief judge of the event gave the car a courtesy inspection, he was disappointed the car was on display only and not in a judged class (he recommended the Driven or Preservation class). He and the other judges were very impressed with the car and believed it would be very competitive at local and regional shows.

If you are an active Jaguar enthusiast, you will find this car to be a worthy and correct addition to your collection. If you are a new enthusiast and this is your first Jaguar to own, this car will sweep you off your feet and you'll soon be hopelessly in love with both this car and the Jaguar marque.

Car now offered on ebay, complete with funky VIN as listed above.
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $■■■■■ reserve not met, 13 bids 5 days left in auction. Now said to be in Scottsdale, Arizona.

    Sellers description:
We are the third owner of the car. The car was purchased new at Sunnyvale British Motor Cars in California and the first owner kept the car in Fremont CA. until 1977 when he sold it at 20,050 miles. The car had been stored from 1973-1977. The car went to Coburg OR. where it was recommissioned and shown at some local venues but mostly sat in the garage. A long time friend of mine Bob, at Sports Car Shop in Eugene OR. had done a little bit of work on the car and told me about the car. I bought the car at 23577 miles in 2005 and sadly only drove the car 1139 miles since.

The car is amazingly tight and drives as you would expect a car with this mileage to drive with great power, and oil pressure. The suspension and brakes are both great and this is really an enjoyable car to drive.

The car has never shown any rust - just nice and dry. We have a pile of receipts showing the work done to the car over the years including receipts that show some areas of the car had some small dents repaired and spot painted with lacquer. While the paint looked pretty nice, you could see some differences between the original paint and the touched up areas. I decided to have our shop do a complete tear down, repaint and reassembly of the car with new mouldings. In person the paint is stunning, the original chrome and glass are all very nice. It still has the original factory delivery stickers on the windshield including the Queens Export Award dated 1967.

The original seats were pretty decent but there was some wear on the back of the drivers seat from the top frame being drug across it (common error). We had new leather seat covers installed but the rest of the interior is original to the car. The original jack and tool bag are with the car as well as the owners manual and service booklet.
