I bought this car in 2014, I can often be seen driving around the San Jose/Bay Area.

It was certainly more than a days work to get it back on the road. Dave Ferguson at Images Autobody in Campbell, did an amazing job getting it back on the road.

The car is very original, I have not restored it. It wasn't until I got the car home that I discovered that the original black California plates have tag #, "XKE 919", completely appropriate for a car registered in California in 1968. Very lucky!

The numbers all match, the only rust appeared to be surface rust on components like the heater core, etc. Most everything cleaned up really well. The radio works, the clock even works.

The car was not "complete", as advertised - it was missing the exhaust system (starting at the exhaust manifolds), and it was missing the convertible top. Both of those were obviously addressed.

It's not clear whether the 27K miles are original, or if it rolled over once. Based on the black plates, the car was last registered in 1972. Many things on the car pointed to it being a low milage car. However, if it only had 27K miles, they were REALLY rough miles on the exterior of the car, especially the bottom. Both footwells have dents from clearly running over something, same thing under the nose of the bonnet, lots of wear and tear under the car, and even on the top of the bonnet. But it appeared to have an original fan belt, the white paint surrounding the engine number on the block was very clean and white, original glass, original wipers, really hard to say for sure. I, honestly, don't care!

Also, the seats were vinyl covered when I bought the car. I thought somebody must have left it out in the rain, or something, ruined the leather, and didn't want to spend the $$ for leather again. Many years after I bought it, I was working on the sliders under the seats, and found that the vinyl was actually put ON TOP of the original leather!

The vinyl is now in a box, the leather seats are in amazingly great condition!
