Original owner traded in on a Corvette! This is a very clean original car.

Sellers description:
1968 Jaguar XKE roadster that was privately owned since 1970. The miles are 15,693 and correct as the car has been in storage since 1978 that after the top was cut twice in attempts to steal the car when the owner decided to just put it away. The car was stored in a heated, dry garage that was basically inside the lower level of the house. The car is very original and nothing has been restored. We just cleaned up the best possible way in order for it to maintain its originality and patina. The interior is original with only very slight wear on the driver’s seat as detailed, the carpet is original and in good condition, the top has been replaced many years ago but is in great condition although some of the rubber seals have deteriorated. The body color is Dark Green Opalescent and all we did was touch up a few stone chips and buff out the existing finish with great results. The body chrome is in good condition and fits properly. The engine and engine bay parts are all original and the engine number matches the data tag. The carburetors have received a top end service which included new bladders and a new fuel feed rubber hose replacing the white plastic original hose which was brittle. The oil and filter were changed, fuel tank drained and cleaned with new fuel filter, new spark plugs, points and condenser, radiator fluid and brake fluid were also changed. We left the spark plug wires alone as they appeared to be original, but they work fine. The engine starts instantly, runs smoothly and quietly with no odd noises, accelerates strong with no smoke and a hot compression test reveals that all cylinders are equal and up to specification. The car was left to idle for over 2 hours on a 90 degree day, the fans cycled properly with no signs of overheating. The hot oil pressure was 25 PSI at idle and 40 PSI at 3,000 RPM. The lower radiator hose has been changed at one point but the others are original with the original Cheney clamps still in place. The exhaust system is in good sound condition and appears to be original. We installed a new battery and a positive cable, the original positive cable comes with the car and may be able to be reused. The brakes are firm and work properly. The wheels are original and in great condition with new tires installed. The spare tire is original and comes with the jack and tool kit. The body is very good with no rust in the foot wells or floor/boot/bonnet areas. All the splash shields are in place along with the heat shields which normally get thrown out.
