The Jaguar E-Type is an iconic British motoring legend; manufactured by Jaguar Cars between 1961 and 1975. It combined sensational looks, high performance and competitive pricing that instantly captured the imagination of the British public at the time and it has remained a motoring icon. On the car’s public release in 1961, Enzo Ferrari called it, “the most beautiful car ever made.”
In 1965 this Jaguar ‘E’ Type was supplied new to authorized Jaguar Cars’ distributor, Archibald’s Garage, in Christchurch, New Zealand. It had been ordered new for a well-known Jaguar enthusiast and was registered on the 11th of February 1966. Using the car only sparingly, the Jaguar resided with him in Christchurch until his passing, when it was acquired by Hexagon Classics. As New Zealand does not use salt on its roads, the E-Type has remained in wonderful original condition, helping preserve items such as the original factory chromed head bolts and enamelled manifolds.
