Car returns to ebay (UK) : seller leadoncommercials, 13 bids, current bid £16,101 reserve not met, 5 days left in auction www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JAGUAR-E-TYPE-FHC-1965-SERIES-ONE-4-2-FOR-RESTORATION-RIGHT-H ...
Seller's description :
Jaguar E Type Series One 4.2 Coupe.
Right hand drive.
Chassis 1074 of 1583 produced.
This vehicle was found in a barn along with a number of other classics and is in need of a total restoration.
Has been stored for over 25 years and is showing its last road licence disk being 1989.
Completely original and full matching numbers with Heritage Certificate.
Here is a great opportunity to restore an early E-Type. It appears that this vehicle has not had any previous restoration work so would make a perfect vehicle to restore. The floor panels are rotten along with the boot floor and the sills, the bonnet has dents but is in good condition, the doors are good but also have dents to them, the trim is all original and the colour sits well being red with white. The vehicle left the factory in opalescent golden sand as per the Heritage certificate so has been re-sprayed at some point some years ago. It left the factory on 6th December 1965 and its distributor was Henlys London. The inner panels still show this colour along with the engine bay. The original jack is still in its original hessian sack in the boot. The engine does turn over, however I have not tried to start it as the keys have been lost in its time in storage, and as its been stood for so long I thought it best not to try. The chassis number is 1E21074 and I have the V5 which is registered in my name with my address. I don't have any previous history for the vehicle other than some business cards found in the glove compartment and that the vehicle found its way to New Hampshire USA for some years and where it was stored until found in a barn along with a number of other classics in 2015. During its time in New Hampshire it was fitted with the later ribbed cam covers. This vehicle will need a total restoration but its a perfect example with a good colour combination. I have seen a restored car in opalescent golden sand with red interior and it looked absolutely stunning.

I reserve the right to end this auction early.

Car to be at auction 7/18
www.historics.co.uk/buying/auctions/2018-07-07/cars/ref-121-1965-jaguar-e-type-s ...
Auction description:
Brooklands Motor Museum
July 7th 2018
Lot 202 - 1965 Jaguar E-Type Series I Coupé (4.2 litre)
Registration LGT 236D
Chassis Number 1E 21074
Engine Number 7E 6492-9
Odometer reading 50 miles
Estimate £145,000 - £169,000
Matching engine, gearbox and chassis
Original right hand drive UK example
Full ground up, nut and bolt restoration
Warranted by Automo E-type Specialists
This stunning E-Type was originally distributed by Henlys of London to Broadfields Garage who duly sold the car to its first owner, a Mr D B Thompson, on 6th December 1965. This example still retains its original plate LGT 236D and is offered in the correct and original colour combination of Opalescent Golden Sand with red leather trim. After being off the road for many years, this coupé was purchased in 2016 in barn find condition and beautifully restored with a no expense spared philosophy by Automo, of Taplow in Berkshire, to showcase the workmanship they offer to their exclusive client base. The focus of the restoration has clearly been on quality and originality; however during the process some sympathetic upgrades have been added including upgraded Coopercraft brakes, adjustable suspension, cooling system and a modern retro-look stereo which allows Bluetooth connectivity and DAB radio.
We are informed that some 2200 man hours were spent on the restoration process which took 12 months to complete and anything that could not be comprehensively restored to the exacting required standard was replaced with new parts. Today the car can only be described as concours quality and jaw droppingly gorgeous from all angles. The engine, chassis and original four speed gearbox are as original as is the Webasto sunroof and Automo warranty their parts and workmanship for any potential purchaser; something rarely offered in an auction environment . The odometer will read approx 50 miles after being road tested and tweaked with any necessary adjustments being made and therefore presents as a new car; arguably even better than when new. Jaguar Heritage are offering restoration cars for over £320,000 in this condition and specification and we believe this E-Type offers fabulous value and is undoubtedly one of the finest examples in the country. Accompanied by the Jaguar Heritage Certificate, a new MoT test certificate, a professional hardback photo book documenting the restoration from start to completion and V5C registration document, plus an Automo six month warranty; viewing is highly recommended.
