According to its accompanying Heritage Certificate, chassis 1E21456 vacated Jaguar's factory on December 29th 1966 and was supplied new by Imperial Motors Ltd of Cheltenham Gloucestershire to a K. C. Radburn of Sapcote, Leicestershire. The vendor acquired it 30 years later from a Charles Cooper of Ockbrook, Derbyshire. The E-type was unearthed from a shed at the bottom of his garden where it had apparently lain unused and unloved for 16 years. Unsurprisingly, the two-seater was in need of a major restoration - at the time the odometer is understood to have read 74,000 miles. The Fixed Head Coupe was completely stripped and the body treated to new driver's door, front wings, floors, inner/outer sills, rear wheel arches and boot floor. On reassembly it was resprayed Dark Blue. The interior received new seats, carpets, sill tops and facia and was retrimmed in Blue as original. Mechanically, chassis 1E21456 received attention to its clutch/gearbox, steering, suspension, rear brakes and fuel system etc not to mention the following upgrades: Coopercraft front brakes; two-inch bore top quality stainless steel exhaust system; extra wide chrome/stainless steel wire wheels; electronic ignition system; and Kenlowe electric cooling fan. Boasting matching cylinder head/block numbers, the original 4.2-litre engine was also thoroughly overhauled gaining new bearings, pistons, conrods, valves and oil/water pumps etc. The restoration was spread over a 10-year period and after some 27,000 miles the vendor now classifies the bodywork, paintwork, interior trim, powerplant and four-speed manual gearbox as all being in 'good' order (though, he notes a small area of bubbling on the tailgate). A fine looking example of the breed, 'GRT 100' was used to illustrate the lines of the S1 FHC in 'Jaguar E-Type' - 'Portrait of a Design Icon' by Glen Smale. The book is still in print and the sale car features on both covers and the inside. The history file includes a memory stick of the related studio photos.

This beautiful E Type has been restored to a very high standard. It is an original right hand drive car with matching numbers and the original colours of Opalescent Light Blue with Dark Blue trim.

This is a great car with plenty of torque from the legendry 4.2 engine with a beautiful exhaust note. Tailor made luggage comes with this car so it is ready for driving on those continental trips.
