I inspected this car on 11 January 1996 (yes, 1996). On that date the car’s ID plate was missing, but the Engine Number (7E15130-9) was read off the engine block. The Car Number (1E21708) and Gearbox Number (EE1725) were taken by cross reference from Roger Payne’s Australian E-Type Register, first edition, dated October 1991. Therefore, if the engine was swapped into this car, the car number (1E21708) would be incorrect. This seems highly unlikely because the following ownership history was confirmed by the car’s second and fourth owner in January 1996.
First owner, M.D. McLennan of Sydney (from Roger Payne’s Australian E-Type Register)
Second owner, Robert Bowden of Sydney, purchased early 1969 with approx. 3,000 miles.
Third owner, Albert Auyeung of Sydney, purchased 1985 with approx. 45,000 miles.
Fourth owner, Robert Bowden of Sydney (again), repurchased 1994 with approx 52,000 miles.
Fifth owner, Richard Christopherson of Sydney, purchased 28 July 1995 with approx 53,000 miles.
Sixth owner, unknown, purchased 1996 with approx 54,000 miles.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
