Other DVLA records indicate registration on 26th February 1964 which appears to be incorrect

This shows a build date of June 1968 and original Opalescent SIlver Blue metallic paintwork
It also confirms this is a matching numbers RHD car
DVLA VIN records appear incorrect showing 1121908 chassis number
We suspect this shoud be 1E21908 which would be correct for a late Series 1.5
The last RHD FHC was chassis number 1E21959
The buyer may wish to clarify the VIN records with the vendor
DVLA records show that the engine carries the correct ‘7E’ prefix of XK E-Type motors
We note a colour change to green on 20th July 1978
Retains its original Wolverhampton area registration plate
New V5 applied for from DVLA with the correct details matching the vehicles Jaguar Heritage Certificate.
Vendor advises original parts with the car include:
Triple SU carburettors
Front suspension parts
Engine which we are told turns
4 speed synchromesh gearbox
IRS unit and differential
This car is a Series 1 fixed head coupe, first registered in Wolverhampton and recently found in Cornwall near the Lizard. We understand that it is a two owner car, the seller acquiring the car in 1976 whilst living in the Midlands.
He fitted a tow bar soon after - to tow his dinghy - before relocating to Cornwall in the late 1980s. The car was then stripped in preparation for a rebuild that never happened, resulting in the car being stored in a shipping container for the next 35 years.
Recently rediscovered it clearly requires full restoration, although looks to be pleasingly complete. There is a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Certificate to verify the matching numbers status. We have not had sight of this but we have checked the V5 VIN number against E-Type chassis records. This is recorded as a seven digit number - all Series 1 E-Type VINs start 1E so we suspect there is a recording error.
The Heritage Certificate shows a build date of June 1968. The final Series 1.5 FHC RHD car was chassis number 1E21959, making this car potentially 51st from last Series 1 FHC RHD car built. The buyer may wish to check this information directly with the Certificate.
