If indeed it is FHC #2 that would make the VIN 1E30002, this assumes the seller was correct and was not verified.

    Sellers comment:
1965 XKE FIXED HEAD COUPE (ACTUALLY '64), THIS IS 4.2 COUPE # 2 ,LHD ,VERY RARE WEBASTO SUNROOF ,RECENTLY FOUND LANGUISHING IN A CENTRAL MASSACHUSETTS BARN WHERE IT SAT FOR THE LAST 25 YRS , LIKELY THE OLDEST REMAINING 4.2 COUPE . EVEN MORE INTERESTING IS THAT THIS COULD VERY WELL BE THE FALL 1964 NY AUTO SHOW CAR BUT PROVENANCE WOULD HAVE TO BE RESEARCHED ,LIGHT BLUE / NAVY , MATCHING #'S , RUNS ,NO SIGNIFICANT RUST , ASKING $18000

Current bid $1,025.00 (Reserve not met), 2 bids, 6 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
NUMBERS....WITH VINTAGE JAGUARS , IT'S ALWAYS NUMBERS . WELL HERE IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO OBTAIN A CAR THAT IS SURE TO BE QUITE COLLECTABLE NUMBERS WISE . IT IS THE SECOND 4.2 CAR PRODUCED IN LATE 1964 , CAR # 2 , WHICH IS ALSO TO MY KNOWLEDGE PROBABLY THE OLDEST REMAINING 4.2 COUPE IN EXISTANCE UNLESS CAR #1 SURFACES SOMEWHERE WHICH IS UNLIKELY AT THIS POINT . ALSO , AS AN EXTRA ADDED MYSTERY , THIS CAR WAS RUMORED TO HAVE BEEN THE 1965 NORTH AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW CAR IN 1965 . PLEASE UNDERSTAND , THIS HAS NOT BEEN DOCUMENTED IN ANY WAY BUT IF PROPERLY RESEARCHED AND PROVEN TRUE THIS WOULD ALSO INCREASE THE CARS DESIRABILITY AS A COLLECTABLE IMMENSELY. OF COURSE , IF ANYONE OUT THERE HAS ANY INFORMATION REGARDING THIS CARS HISTORY , PRINTED OR OTHERWISE , IT WOULD BE GREAT TO HEAR FROM YOU AND MUCH APPRECIATED .

THIS CAR WAS DISCOVERED OVER A YEAR AGO LANGUISHING IN A BARN IN CENTRAL MASSACHUSETTS WHERE IT HAD BEEN SITTING FOR MANY YEARS. IT IS SURPRISINGLY COMPLETE AND ORIGINAL AND ALL MATCHING NUMBERS . IT WAS FITTED ORIGINALLY WITH THE VERY RARE WEBASTO SLIDING SUNROOF WHICH WAS PROBABLY DONE AT THEIR FACTORY IN LONDON BEFORE IT CAME ON THE BOAT TO THE USA .THE CAR DOES RUN , AND MOVES UNDER ITS OWN POWER BUT WOULD NEED WORK TO PUT IT ON THE ROAD SUCH AS BRAKES , HYDRAULICS , ETC . THE ENGINE SOUNDS GOOD WITH GOOD OIL PRESSURE .I CAN FIND NO SIGNIFICANT RUST ON THE CAR , IT IS BASICALLY VERY SOLID , THERE IS BODY FILLER IN THE NOSE SECTION AND THE CAR HAS BEEN REPAINTED IN A SHADE OF LIGHT BLUE WHICH IS CLOSE , BUT NOT THE ORIGINAL COLOR OF OPALESCENT SILVER BLUE . THE SEATS HAVE BEEN REUPHOLTERED BUT THE REST OF THE INTERIOR IS LARGELY ORIGINAL.

IN GENERAL THIS CAR WOULD NEED A PRETTY STRAIGHTFORWARD RESTORATION BUT BECAUSE OF ITS SIGNIFICANT NUMBER APPEAL I WILL LET THE NEW OWNER DECIDE TO WHAT EXTENT IT DESERVES.
THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE A VERY RARE AND COLLECTABLE JAGUAR TO ADD TO YOUR COLLECTION OR START ONE.
