For your consideration – one severely rusted early E-Type Jaguar coupe, Series 1-1/2. I purchased it from an elderly gentleman who owned the car since the 70’s. He modified it back then with a corvette small block and when some parts were stolen from the engine, he parked it in his back yard and abandoned it. It has complete suspension front and rear but is missing the original engine, transmission, radiator, lights, bumpers, etc. Interior includes good original seat frames, console, trans tunnel and complete gauges (no keys).

I believe this is a 65 or 66 going by a few clues, one of which is a ’65 dated voltage regulator and a 1967 Illinois tax sticker (so it has to be newer than 65 and older than 67). The body is severely rusted to the point that the IRS unit has pulled loose from the frame. The front rails have been modified and have some rust, as pictured, floors and spare tire well are very bad also. Hood has been modified and is rusty at the valance and sides, doors are very rough but have very nice window frames and glass. Rear hatch has some rust starting at the bottom but is salvageable. I cannot find an id number, and the area where the tag normally is found is blank.

In the hands of a very dedicated restorer, the car can be saved. But it is probably better left as a parts car. I say again, it is very rusty!

As much as I hate to see an early car go to heaven, this one is probably best broken up for whatever usable parts are left. It's amazing how far downhill a car can go when it's left in the garden as a planter box.
