Sellers description:
California black-plate car with California pink slip. Rust free. 71,120 miles, believed to be accurate and original. I purchased this car 28 years ago, knowing it had not been wet-sanded from the repaint, and it had low oil pressure at idle. The previous owner assured me the engine had been rebuilt, including an exchange head with hardened valve seats for unleaded gas. I replaced the oil sender and gage, but to no avail. I pulled the pan and plastigaged the bearings. They were Ok for clearance, and .010 under. I replaced the oil pump, and also the bearings while I was in there. This solved the issue. So I confirmed the crank was turned in the rebuild. The exchange head's numbers do not match the plate.
We were transferred to Houston, and brought the car on the van. We never registered it in Texas, as we planned on returning to California, but this is not now going to happen. I probably put 30 illegal miles on the car around the neighborhood here in Texas. I redid the brakes, with rebuild of the master and booster cylinders. Added the Wilwood conversion front calipers, and moved the larger front calipers to the rear to balance the improved stopping of the Wilwoods. I re-enameled the exhausts, and added a new Monza exhaust . Interior is tatty, and needs rugs for sure. The chrome is decent, not show quality. I have not gotten up the courage to wet-sand the paint, a package of 2000 grit paper goes with the car!
Tires were almost new, but probably rock-hard by now. Rubber seals are decent. I have complete new rubber and hose kits that go with the car. I have an extensive literature, manuals, and spare parts acquired over the years. These inculde a Bently's, radiator, head, rocker covers, calipers, exhaust manifolds. headlight glass, carb rebuild kits, etc. A some point the car had AC, as there is a small evaporator/blower mounted on the package tray behind the seats. There never were any brackets or signs of a compressor mounting on the engine, nor any condensor or hoses around the radiator. An electric fan has been fitted.
Probably been 2 years since I started her up. I know i will need a battery clean the carbs, maybe points for the original fuel pump.

Beautiful. I hope this comment finds you well. I wanted to comment, because I own 1E31112. It is also a FHC. Just out of 27 year, dry storage. Numbers matching, very, very rust free, too. I just removed the fuel tank. /he previous owner was quite handy, and had rebuilt the rear suspension, rear brakes and the three SUs. Can't believe how clean the undercarriage is on this beauty. She'll be running by this time next week.
