This 1965 Jaguar XKE is a Series 1 coupe that was first sold to a doctor in Boise, Idaho and was acquired by its current owner in 2014, reportedly after 25 years of storage in a residential garage in Santa Paula, California. Subsequent work included refinishing the body in factory Opalescent Silver Grey, reconditioning the brightwork, and reupholstering the interior in black leather. Power is from a 4.2-liter inline-six which features overhauled triple SU carburetors and is paired with a four-speed manual transmission. A new aluminum radiator and stainless steel exhaust system were fitted and the brakes, suspension, and fuel system overhauled. This Series 1 E-Type is offered by the seller on behalf of its current owner with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, a workshop manual, and a clean California title describing it as a 1966 model.

The refurbishment began in 2015 and lasted approximately three years, including bodywork as well as a repaint by Steve Gaboury of Southern California. Photos taken during the paintwork are included. Much of the bright trim is said to have been sent out for replating prior to reassembly.

Chrome wire wheels are wrapped in 185-series Pirelli P6000 tires. The four-wheel disc brakes are inboard at the rear, and new pads were fitted along with reconditioned front calipers and rotors.

The seats have been reupholstered in black leather. Todd Aho of Performance Interior in Santa Ynez, California additionally re-trimmed the door panels, headliner, and dash. New carpeting was also installed.

Interior equipment includes a wood-rimmed steering wheel, a period Blaupunkt radio, and Smiths instrumentation. Approximately 43k miles are shown on the five-digit odometer, 250 of which were added since the work was completed.

The 4.2-liter inline-six was rated at 265 horsepower when new and features triple SU carburetors, which were cleaned and overhauled during the refurbishment. A new fuel tank and pump were also installed, as were a replacement battery, hoses, belts, and fluids. Cooling is managed by a replacement aluminum radiator equipped with a thermostatically-controlled fan. Shifting is via a four-speed manual gearbox.

Cylinder head stamping #7E4306-9 matches the engine number listed on the JHT certificate. A new stainless exhaust system has been fitted along with replacement shocks.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate shows serial numbers for the drivetrain components as well as listing the original colors and a May 1965 production date.
