    Ebay item 11/18/09
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-coupe-Jaguar-1967-XKE-Series-1-Coupe_W0QQi ...
Current bid $6,600 reserve not met, 10 bids 6 days left in auction. 70K miles.

    Sellers description:
1967 Series 1 coupe. You can drive it or restore it. I acquired this car in 1997. Did a minor restoration that included many Robbie body panels; rear boot floor.floor panel, A -posts rockers and body seals. Most of the chrome was plated and new paint. Two new leather seats and new carpets { not installed} Last inspection in 2001.When last driven the front end was tight and the engine smooth. This 4.2 is a solid, honest car and with a little TLC will be a great driver OR a solid restoration project .

Sold on eBay 8 February 2010 for $8,600 (sole bid). Seller's description follows:
"I bought this E-Type S1 4.2 from an enthusiast by end of November last year in Lewiston/USA. He owned this car since 1997 and did a minor restoration after he purchased the car. According to his description, this included: "many Robey body panels incl. rear boot floor panel, A –posts, rockers and floor parts. Most of the chrome was plated, new body seals fitted and finally the car got a new paint. Two new leather seats and new carpets were bought as well“
His wife then drove it regulary until a couple of years ago – at that point everyting was working fine; he sold it because he moved to another state.
In my eyes it´s a complete (everything´s there), very sound and solid car without rust issues and I just wanted to drive it after a bigger inspection (go through the hydraulics, etc. ..) So I ordered Schuhmacher Cargo Logistics to collect the car and to ship it from New Jersey to Rotterdam (Netherlands – which is next to the german border where I live).
The nightmare for me begun on 31st of Dec. when I was told by Schuhmacher that the car had been involved in an accident and the front end became damaged, due to not beeing fixed tightly enough on the trailer. Some days later it was brought to a company specialised in restoring Jaguars in order to undertake a survey . They are located in Connecticut and currently it´s still there. After some exhausting discussions with the insurance company they finally agreed to pay a little amount as a reimbursement.
As I am not a restorer and don´t have the time to look for the parts I decided to sell it. As you can see from the pictures the bonnet is beyond repair (although there are still many attached not damaged parts that still can be used!)
The car is priced cheap and I won´t negotiate it - already now I have made a respectable financial loss…
I want to end this story as soon as possible, therefore it´s only a 3-day-listing. An immediate deposit of 900.-USD is due by PAYPAL. After that the buyer and me will do a Bill of Sale. Remaining funds must be wired within 3 working days to my account by bank transfer (if you wire the balance by PAYPAL please add 3.5%). After I have received the whole amount you can collect the car and I will assign Schumacher Cargo to forward the paperwork (incl. clear transferable NY registration) to your address by registered mail.
If you have any questions please send me an Email – if you want to talk to me I mail you back my tel.nr. and you can call me to discuss. If the successful bidder should come from Europe: everyting is prepared for shipping to Rotterdam (but can be changed to any other port)
The car will become trailered in the next days to the port of New Jersey.
