Car returns to ebay 8/10/21
Classified ad price: $172,500, seller vantage1227, car now in Huntington Station, New York, 69k miles.
Seller's description:
Opalescent Gunmetal Grey with Red leather interior, Red carpeting, Restored with limited mileage since, 4.2 liter straight six-cylinder engine, 4-speed transmission, Matching Numbers, Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, Collector ownership.
This E-Type was completed on June 14, 1966 and originally sold from Jaguar Cars New York to Mrs. F. Lupo. This E-Type was owned for many years by a collector in Vancouver, Canada and well-known in Jaguar club circles. During this ownership the E-Type was completely restored by Jaguar marque specialists and completed in 2016. Donovan Motorcar Service took the engine down to the block, rebuilt and resealed it along with rebuilding the transmission and differential. It is a complete matching numbers car. A new wiring harness was installed, all chrome and bright work was re-plated, new glass, new proper red line tires with new chrome wire wheels and knock offs, new wiper motor, heater radiator, rebuilt brakes calipers, new stainless steel Falcon exhaust, new exhaust manifolds, brake servo master cylinder, clutch, suspension, and everything else needed to make this E-Type exceptional.
Towards the end of the restoration, the then owner unfortunately had to sell the car. The Jaguar was sold and imported to its next custodian in North Carolina. Upon completion of the restoration, the car was accepted and shown at the 2016 Pinehurst Concours D' Elegance. All components and work done during the rotisserie restoration was per original Jaguar specifications. A few upgrades were to the stereo system with a new radio and speakers behind the seats. After full servicing and enjoying the E-Type for the summer, it was sold to its most recent owner sharing winter and summer residences in Massachusetts and Florida, respectively.
The E-Type has had very limited mileage since the restoration as it was only driven as a pleasure vehicle in the summer, but always well cared for and maintained regardless of use. This Jag is comfortable yet dialed in for around-town cruising. One of the most iconic sports cars of all time, this numbers matching E-Type Coupe represents the very best in build quality and craftsmanship throughout.
Most recently this E-type has been treated to approximately $20,000.00 due mainly to lack of use and to prepare for upcoming 1,000 mile vintage rallies - tours. All work has been performed by noted Jaguar marque specialist, Tony Dutton, Northumberland Engineering, South Hampton, NY. A recent road test attests to the car performing flawlessly in every way and it is indeed ready for immediate use and enjoyment.
This E-Type includes owners manual, binder of records, a period Jaguar routine maintenance poster and its Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate.
