I found this car in the paper for my dad about 25 years ago. He then gave it to me in 98 because he had too many projects and not enough space, He recently finished a 140 and i'm thinking about geting a quote from him. ha! Within the next year I plan on making it a weekend driver and hopefully drive away from my wedding next summer (2006). Daytime of course.

I purchased this car from B Latrobe in June 2013 and have spent the past 6 months restoring it to all original condition in that the past owner had done numerous minor but incorrect improvements to the car over the last 25 years. The car had largely been off the road since 1991 (but registered each year in California) with only 1000 miles driven in the last 20 years. The car received about 15k in mechanical work in 2005 and then sat largely un-driven. My work on the car is far too numerous to mention...all new correct interior, new correct glass, Wilwood brakes, gear reduction starter, new header tank, new exhaust headers, re-spray of under-bonnet and complete detail of engine bay and engine, new brightworks, new ignition etc. etc. It is now a wonderful restored original black license plate California car and an excellent occasional driver. It was one of the last 20 series 1 LHD FHC built. I am proud to be the owner. I will try to post some images of the car

www.artcurial.com/en/node/1105398

Sale Automobiles sur les Champs 14 - 04 november 2018 /Lot 76 1967 Jaguar Type E Coupé 4.2 Série 1

Estimation 80,000 - 100,000 €

Sale: 3887 Date: 04 nov. 2018

Austrian title

Chassis n°. 1 E 34560

Engine n°. 7 E 14000-9

- Interesting Series 1

- Good condition of use

- Matching numbers

This Jaguar Type E coupe was delivered new on August 2, 1967 in California through the Jaguar distributor in New York. It was in opalescent maroon livery with black leather interior, a combination that it still has today. This would be one of the last 20 left-hand-drive coupés to be made in Series 1. Its current owner, an Austrian collector, acquired it in California in early 2016. According to its previous owner, the car had hardly been driven since 1991 and benefited from extensive refurbishment work in 2005. The mechanics (matching numbers), braking as well as the interior had then been mainly concerned. The car is now equipped with an alternator. The bodywork is in good condition, but shows signs of regular use over a long period of time. The interior is in good condition. Combining the purity of the first series line with the powerful 4.2 engine, this Jaguar type E will seduce enthusiasts looking for a car in good condition of use.
