I have owned this FHC E-TYPE since circa 1976 with its restoration shortly afterward (painted metallic BRG). It currently resides in my garage with no plates awaiting rebuilt carbs et al. I hate the open headlights.
My previous E-TYPE was a series 1 1966 convertible which I sold (sigh) in 1970. The car was a mechanical nightmare, but I miss it dearly.

You can get modification kits to close the headlights, however the open headlights do a much better job of lighting the road and they're much less hassle to mess with.
