The Jaguar E Type was the direct successor to the legendary D Type and replaced the XK120, XK140 and XK150 line in March 1961. The futuristic looking E Type S1 monocoque had the 265bhp 3781cc six-cylinder motor underbonnet with independent suspension and disc brakes all round. Open two-seater roadster or fixed head coupe versions were offered, initially with headlamps faired into the nose and later set into the wings with flat glasses on the S2 E Type. Owners could enjoy 150mph performance for less than ú2100 (the DB4 from rival Aston Martin cost a thumping ú3755 by comparison!).
From 1966 onwards, a usefully larger inside 2+2 fixed head S2 E Type joined the range, most being fitted with auto-shift transmission for US buyers. An even larger engined S3 E Type with 5.3-litre V12 roadster and 2+2 fixed head were introduced in 1971.
We understand that this right hand drive fixed head with 2+2 accommodation, full length Webasto sunroof and manual gearbox is in good overall condition. It was last restored in 1991/2, the work carried out by Merlin Classics, and has been well looked after and always garaged since. The radiator, steering rack and brakes have been renewed and a Kenlowe fan fitted. Much history comes with the car including a video as well as bills for restoration and other work totalling over ú16,000 spent.

The car is in excellent condition. It starts and runs very good. The oil pressure is excellent, there is no problem with the water temperature, the gears are working correctly without any noice.

A big Webasto sliding roof is fitted which is in very good condition.

The interior is very good, the dashboard is original and has the typical switches fitted. All instruments are working correctly.

The Jaguar E-Type has wire wheels and four new tires.

The paint is very good with some small tracks. The chrome is also very good.

A frame off restauration was made in the years 1990-1992. A photo documentation and a video show all the work which was done and alle invoices are available.
