This is a 4.2 series 1 Coupe 2 plus 2 automatic, finished in its original colour of Carmen red with black leather upholstery. It is a 'matching numbers' car from new, except for the gearbox which was originally an automatic, got changed for a manual gearbox in the 1970's and then changed back from manual to automatic in 2003. It has a Jaguar Heritage certificate and an outstandingly comprehensive history file with many bills, receipts and invoices. These include a major rebuild and restoration of the car in 1986 supported with a full photographic record.
Today it has covered just 38,000 miles from new, with only 2,000 of them in the last 14 years and has only had 4 owners.
The history file tells us that the car was subject to considerable further work in 2003 (when the gearbox was swopped back) and subsequently the car benefits from many new parts including: diff oil, brake fluid, coil, air filters, fuel pump, exhaust, prop shaft, steering rack and new interior parts including the seats being re upholstered. Sitting on chrome wire wheels and with an MOT until Feb 2013, she's now ready to enjoy the open road once again.

Beaulieu Garage are pleased to offer for sale this beautiful Series 1 Jaguar 4. 2 E-Type 2+2, finished in stunning Signal Red. The interior is finished in black leather and is in good condition with a natural patina. Beaulieu Garage is known in the Jaguar market as builders, renovators and purveyors of E-Type Jaguars. As a result this car has been cared for by our in-house team, a team with huge experience in maintaining these wonderful cars. Indeed, this E-Type is mechanically on point having been looked after by us at Beaulieu Garage for a number of years. This wonderful E-Type does have some age related marks and should be considered as being at an enthusiasts level. Being so mechanically strong, it would need some work on the aesthetics to make it a very nice car all round. Equally, it is ready drive right now and would be a joy to drive and own.
