Thirty years in the airline industry in the Pacific, Asia and Australia. Now manage a trade apprentice training organisation.

I am selling this on behalf of my father, who has owned it for the last 16 years. The car has been garaged for all of those 16 years. The car has original matching numbers: Vin No. 1E50182, Engine no. 7E51279-9

Took car off the road in May 2009 due to slipping clutch. Only then did I discover the engine and transmission must be removed to replace the clutch.........

Decided to over haul engine. Discovered the engine had recently been rebored 40 thou oversize. Replaced rings, main bearings, big end bearings, new oil pump, spin on oil filter modification, flywheel machined, gear box inspected, found perfect, all seals and gaskets replaced.

Over work: water pump overhauled, distributor cleaned and lubricated, starter motor overhauled, alternator over hauied. New radiator and top tank installed two years previous. Original fan replaced two years ago with electric fan on front of radiator.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
