Ebay item 9/1/14
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-2-2-coupe-1966-Jaguar-Series-1-Barn-Find-XKE-Proj ...
Opening bid $12,000, no bids 6 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
This 1966 Jaguar XKE is a barn find in rural Georgia. It is a project car, but is in good shape for its age and ready for restoration. It comes with 4.2-litre engine with 3 carbs, automatic transmission and dealer installed A/C. The odometer reads 57,993 miles. It was last registered in Puerto Rico in 1984, and was shipped to Georgia not long after. Since then it has been sitting (30 years) in a barn with a concrete floor.
This classic is white with a black interior. At one time in its history, it had been repainted maroon, then the last owner repainted it in white lacquer, which has crackled. The paint has been partially stripped, then left in storage while the owner moved on to other projects.
The car is missing the exhaust system, and it has some rust, mainly in the driver's side rocker, door bottom and floor (all pictured). There's also a little rust at the bottom of the hatch and a few other spots. I can see Bondo work in several places. The turn signal lenses are cracked and one is missing. With that said, I've seen much worse.
The spare tire well is in great shape, however, and the tire may be the original Dunlop. The motor turned over 3 months ago. The interior is in very good shape with some normal wear. There are no cracks or tears in the door panels, dash or console. The seats are pretty nice. The headliner and most of the carpet has been removed to check floor condition (all 4 shown). All the glass is present.
The rest of the car appears to be complete, except for the front bumper, which the previous owner is trying to locate.
The last picture shows the car as found.
